Unique Things To Do In MN On Valentine’s Day

There are 4 types of couples on Valentine’s Day. Those that stay home, those that spend an hour on a restaurants waiting list, those that forgot it was Valentine’s Day and finally, those whose significant other is their only other single friend.

Whatever type of couple you are, I dare you to try something new this year!

(Side note: The activities listed are fun to do on any day of the year… except for ice fishing. For obvious reasons.)

For the Adventurous Types:

Vertical Endeavors: If you haven’t heard of this place, you’re missing out! Vertical Endeavors is a large indoor rock climbing facility for people of all ages and experience. In Minnesota, they have 4 different locations in the Twin Cities and 1 location in Duluth. Here’s a link to their website for more information: https://www.verticalendeavors.com.

Breweries/Wineries: Visit your favorite brewery or winery event page on their website to check and see if they have any special events going on (or make sure they don’t) OR venture out and visit somewhere new!

Ice Skating: If you live in Minnesota, it’s almost inevitable to not go ice skating at least once each year (I think). Explore Minnesota has a lot of useful information on where to go and if it’s a lake or man made surface, when, the price, skate rental availability and if there are any extras. Carriage Ride: Did you even know this was a thing?! Because I didn’t until about a month ago! The Hitching Company is located in Minneapolis and they offer a variety of different rides in the area. Here’s the link to their website for more details: https://thehitchingcompany.com. If you don’t live in the area, I’m sure you can google where to find this in your area.

Ice Fishing: Since Minnesota is the land of 10,000 lakes, you might as well utilize them! What better way to spend Valentine’s Day then to sit inside of a small heated room on a frozen body of water? Fishing may not seem exciting to some but it can actually be a great way to get to know your significant other and maybe even learn something new about him/her!

For the Take-it-Easy Types:

Massages: Pretty self explanatory.

Movie: I don’t care what anyone says, going to a movie is not overrated.

Yoga: Attend a yoga class! Yoga classes are offered for people of all ages and levels basically anywhere. Whether you attend a beginners or advanced class, get your sweat on with your better half.

For the “Lets Just Stay at Home” Types:

Board Games: My favorite games are checkers and monopoly.

Make Food: Get creative! Instead of making dinner, make a cool dessert or drink! Pinterest is a great website to visit for ideas. https://www.pinterest.com/

Watch a Movie: If you go online, you can see what movies are trending. You could also search “most popular ____ movies right now.”

Hang With Your Kids: I mean… you DID create/adopt them right?

Go to Bed Early: This is always a great option if you both are tired and don’t want to do anything.

I hope this list helps some of you out! If it didn’t, I’m sorry (but not that sorry) you wasted 5 minutes of your life reading this blog.

Until next time,

Ashley
